SkyReady courses are designed for youth ages 13-18 who are interested in aviation and want to explore what it takes to become a pilot. No prior experience is required.
Yes! During your demonstration flight you will take the controls and fly a Cessna 172 aircraft under the guidance of an FAA-certified flight instructor.
Over the course of the 1-on-1 sessions, you’ll learn how airports operate, the basics of aerodynamics, how to control a plane using a flight simulator, and finally, you’ll take to the skies for hands-on flight experience. In addition you will receive useful information about aviation careers, how to become a professional pilot and resources that can help along the way. As a bonus you will receive a pilot logbook with course and flight time entries to apply towards your private pilot training.
The course takes place at the Concord Airport in Concord, CA, and is conducted by an FAA-certified flight instructor. Rather than a fixed schedule, the course is designed to be flexible, allowing you to coordinate with the instructor and choose a date that fits your availability, ensuring a convenient and personalized learning experience.
